Schedule? What Schedule?!
Although the roof was expected to be on by noon today, early arrivers on the site found that the scene did not appear all that different from last night. Crews had worked through the night on the site, but weather and equipment troubles caused significant delays on the progress of the foundation. Overnight, throughout the morning and well into early afternoon, the crew continued to work on getting the foundation and slab finished. During late afternoon, the interior and exterior wall framing went up. And installation of the roof trusses began at 6:30pm. When asked how far behind we were on the schedule, Jonathan Hirst, Vice President of Building Specialists, commented "a lot" with a sly smile. But he wouldn't talk about how far behind they had been from the original schedule. Jonathan said they had made some revisions and the new schedule has painting finishing one hour ahead of time! The weather continues to be cold and make things more "extreme" than expected. Tomorrow, we are hearing that the weathermen are calling for sleet, therefore getting the roof shingled before the weather starts up is key. The goal for tomorrow is to install the siding, windows and shingles. By tomorrow night, the team would like to be working on interior finishing. |
