The Fikse's wanted a place to house their extended family for vacation fun and family get-togethers. There extended family is over 30 people, so the accommodations had to be spacious. With a history of family vacations at Smith Mountain Lake, the couple knew they would build at the lake; they just needed the perfect home. For entertaining the plans called for a 15 seat theatre, wine room, workout room with sauna, library, boathouse, indoor water feature and much more.

After two years of design work and two years of construction, this 10,500 sqft smart home was completed on schedule. Tucked into a beautiful lot right on the water, the home offers incredible views. Due to its large size and demands for open spaces Building Specialists, Inc. incorporated many commercial building techniques. The state-of-the-art technology that runs the homes security, communication and entertainment systems were designed by the owner and his company On-Q Legrand. This beautiful home was a labor of love, both for the architect and BSI’s construction team.
