St. Luke’s & Odd Fellows Hall

Historic Restoration In Blacksburg, VA.

Situation:

BSI was honored to handle restoration of the historic 100 year old St. Luke’s and Odd Fellows Hall on Gilbert Street. It is the last surviving building of the New Town community, and as such, it is one of the most important buildings in Blacksburg, VA. The Town of Blacksburg planned to turn it into their first museum for local African American History.

Solution:

The delicate project included foundation repair, plaster and floor repairs and updated electrical. BSI also constructed a 400sqft building next door that would house the museum office and ADA restrooms.

Architect: Barry Rakes
