Due to innovations in technology and student demand, Virginia Tech’s main library required renovations to reduce the quantity of paper books and increase the availability of laptop charging stations.
BSI reconfigured the 4th floor common space to create a standing height laptop bar with updated lighting and USB charging ports. The project included new carpet, paint and wall mounted marker boards for student collaboration. Also during this time, BSI renovated multiple offices and created the first 3-D print lab in the library for student use.
