Situation:

The existing laundry facility at VMI was built when opening windows and basic fans were the only means of climate control. The electric service to the building was also not adequate for modern washing and drying equipment, HVAC and lighting.

Solution:

Building Specialists worked with VMI to schedule a complete overhaul of the facility mechanical and electric systems during the summer time when cadet capacity was at a minimum.  Due to the operational function of the building, large HVAC units specifically designed to reduce humidity in the air in efforts to increase worker comfort.   The electric service entering the building was increased to match the demand and new wiring throughout the building provided power where necessary.  LED light fixtures were installed in all spaces to reduce cooling loads and enhance safety for the staff.
