Situation:

The homeowners purchased this land knowing the view would be worth the cost of excavation work needed to clear the side of a mountain for a home. This couple wanted the home to compliment its surroundings and have a nod to nature with its stone foundation and two story fireplace

Solution:

This home, located on Stewards Knob in Roanoke County, Virginia, proved to be one of the most challenging Building Specialists and our excavator had ever taken on with approximately 4 acres of land on a 30% grade, roughly 2,000 cubic yards of dirt (over 200 dump truck loads) was moved. Five hundred cubic yards of rock was hammered out and 500 feet of driveway had to be built to have access to the site. Oh, but the incredible views from this 5,600 square foot custom home Building Specialists designed and built were worth it!
